was the worst of all, who tried to accuse his rivals and opposing journalists of homosexuality.

Kennedy’s case was interesting. Since his stay as the ambassador’s son in England, JFK had the assis-tance and friendship of homosexuals like Joe Alsop 30 and Lem Billings31. Once in the White House, Jackie Kennedy had more friends and advisors who were, including Gore Vidal. Jackie had visited a les-bian bar, and her love for art led her to seek advisors and friends from the community. It was Alsop himself who advised her, before getting married, that Jack was a womanizer and that she could not expect fidelity from him. Kennedy used Alsopś house to bring hundreds of women, and both Alsop and JFK shared a secret sex life. One was homosexual and the other bisexual, who, as he himself admitted, had to have sex every day because it relieved his multiple back pains.

Kennedy, then, was not homophobic and rather loved being admired by both men and women. Moreover, on 30 Joseph Wright Alsop V (October 10, 1910 – August 28, 1989) was an American journalist and syndicated newspaper columnist from the 1930s through the 1970s. He was an influential journalist and top insider in Washington from 1945 to the late 1960s, often in conjunc-tion with his brother Stewart Alsop.

31 Kirk LeMoyne “Lem” Billings (April 15, 1916 – May 28, 1981) was an American businessman known for his close and long-time friendship with John F. Kennedy and the Kennedy family. Billings was a prep school roommate of Kennedy, an usher at his wedding and a campaigner for his successful 1960 presidential bid. Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. called him “my second son,” and he sometimes acted as escort for several of the Kennedy women. Billings served with Sargent Shriver as a trustee for the Kennedy family trusts.
