Date and Cocoa Oatmeal Mix

The reason for the inclusion of cocoa is pretty obvious…chocolate! Without the sugar and calories, of course. The dates provide a caramel-like sweetness to this amazing oatmeal, but if you’re not a fan of oats, use any other dried fruit you like. The nutritional information provided here is only for the contents of the dry oatmeal mix, so you will have to add whichever milk you use to the calories and macros.

Serves: 7 servings of oatmeal

Container: you can either store this in one large container, or divide it into 7 single-serve containers

Time: approximately 10 minutes

Nutritional info per serving:

  • Calories: 191
  • Fat: 2 grams
  • Protein: 7 grams
  • Carbs: 37 grams

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups wholegrain rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 15 dates, chopped into small pieces
  • Pinch of salt

Method:

  1. Place the oats, cocoa, dates, and salt into a bowl and stir to combine.
  2. Place into one large container or 7 small containers and store in the pantry.
  3. To make the oatmeal, place one serving of dry mix into a pot and add 1 and ¼ cups (10fl oz.) of water or milk, stir, and simmer until thick.
