NO-COOK FOODS

No-Cook Foods:

Bananas:

Prep: Slice off a piece of ripe banana and peel.

Puree: Mash with a fork. Add a little water to get a smooth texture.

Storage: Best served fresh. Save remaining banana (with the skin on) by covering the cut end with plastic wrap and storing in the refrigerator. Before using again, slice off the cut end, which may be a little brown.

Avocados:

Prep: Slice a ripe avocado in half, remove the pit, and peel off the skin.

Puree: Mash with a fork. Add a little water to get a smooth texture.

Storage: Best served fresh. Avocado cannot be frozen. You can save half the avocado for one day by leaving the pit in and keeping the peel on. Cover the avocado with plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator.

Pumpkin: Quantity

24 ounces 100% canned Pumpkin. Read the ingredient label and choose only 100% pumpkin puree.

Freeze

Spoon the pumpkin puree from the can into ice cube trays and cover them. Put them in the freezer for 8 to 10 hours or overnight.

Pop and Store

Write “pumpkin” and the date on a freezer storage bag. Remove the baby food trays from the freezer and quickly run hot water over the back of the tray. Twist the tray to pop the pumpkin cubes out and into the freezer storage bag. Place the storage bag in the freezer.
