You’ll Only Miss Me When I’m Gone

by

Robby Richardson

You’ll only miss me when you’re low

You’ll only miss me when you drive alone

You’ll only miss me when our song comes on

You’ll only miss me when the day grows long

You’ll only miss me when you hear that sad song

You’ll only miss me when I’m gone

Let the violin play and let the note hang...fill my soul, fill all of me have it play like a melody

Will the rain cleanse my being...find the road I be seeing and cure the despair I’ve been feeling

Long drives and city lights or corn rows and empty roads

Under starry skies or in dirty rooms, you only fear the night when you miss the moon

I don’t even know where to go, I can’t stay warm when it grows cold

I don’t even know what’s real without you behind the wheel

We’re birds of the same feather...we belong together

Without you there’s no me without you I can’t be free

The one I could count on, but now you’re just gone

You’ll only miss me when you’re low

You’ll only miss me when you drive alone

You’ll only miss me when our song comes on

You’ll only miss me when the day grows long

You’ll only miss me when you hear that sad song

You’ll only miss me when I’m gone

And she said…

Will you miss me when...you’re alone on those long rides home

Will you miss me when...life grows tough that day when enough is enough

Will you miss me when...you see our show when the sun melts the snow

Will you miss me when...the nights grow cold when I’m not there to hold

Will you miss me when...the music blares when we’ve tossed away all our cares

Will you miss me when... the lights dim and the skyline thins

Will you miss me in the rain when friends fade at the trouble we made cruising till we found shade

Will you miss me when they say our love is wrong

Will you miss me when I’m gone

I’ll miss the times that we shared and the laughs of a perfect pair

I’ll miss those nights you kept me warm…listening to a perfect storm

I’ll miss the new music we’ll never hear, the people and roads we put in the rear

Every moment of everyday from finish to start gone from my soul but not my heart

You’ll only miss me when I’m gone and you’re...gone

The End
