Low carbohydrate diets drastically limit your carbohydrate intake so that your body does not have sugar to burn. Without sugar to use as fuel your body will burn fat..

Starting an extreme diet will quickly promote weight loss however you may not want to live without your favorite foods for the long haul. This is what makes it hard to stick to this type of diet..

Eliminating carbohydrates results in the loss of vitamins and minerals you would get from food groups such as brown rice, whole wheat’s, beans, pastas, vegetables, etc. These carbohydrates are good for you and provide your body with a consistent and slow release of sugar. With the slow release of sugar your energy levels remain stable. Whole grains in oatmeal are very beneficial for your health. It is known that this whole grain lowers dangerous LDL cholesterol in your blood.

To be successful on this type of diet you must be able to survive on different cuts of meat and various dairy products and not miss the other food groups, because of teh vey nature of this type of diet there is not much variety so many people find it difficult to stay on this diet for a long time.

Diets Low In Fat

Despite what many people think low fat diets aren’t the answer for everyone. Human beings, even if you’re Kate Moss, need a certain amount of fat in their diet. You need fat for your body to function efficiently. In our society we have somehow developed the mind-set that fat is bad. Fat serves many very useful purposes in our bodies. A few examples of how fat is beneficial are that fat:

 Insulates your organs and provides separation from other

adjacent organs.

 Protects nerves cells and protects them from deterioration.

 Is also involved in your body’s important biochemical responses.

 Promotes brain cell function; keeps hormones stable and

promotes immune system functions. Fat assists with proper cell wall function as well as providing the cells with proper nutrients, etc. Fat is an essential component in our diets.
