burning more calories even though they are just sitting still? This is a very compelling argument for getting off the couch and start exercising.

Here’s How You Increase Your Metabolism

Start exercising more, no matter what type. Any form of exercise will impact your metabolism. Any form of physical activity will burn more calories than if you do nothing at all.

Instead of having three large meals prepare three smaller

meals and two healthy snacks. Smaller meals spread out over the day helps keep the cravings away and also provides a steady source of fuel for your metabolism. Man times when you eat a large meal you feel very tired after. That is because your body need to divert energy from parts of yoru body and put that energy into breaking down and digesting the large meal. Don’t burden your body and metabolism with large meals, keep your meals small and more frequent. .

Avoid, at all costs, any diet that could be considered a crash diet and a diet that requires you to severely restrict you calories. The only thing diets like these will do is force your body into a 'defensive mode' and your body will then concentrate on storing fat. Remember fad diets only provide a temporary solution and are impossible to maintain over a long period of time. The other consequence of a fad diet is that as soon as you stop the diet all the weight will pile right back on. This puts you so far behind that it is almost over whelming. So if you want to lose weight, you have to feed your body. Don’t drive your body to the point where it’s forced to hoard fat and force you to binge to get some food.

Walking is a fantastic exercise for all the major muscle groups. It is not high impact, it gets your heart rate p and gets your entire body moving. Just a 30 minute brisk walk three times a week will increase your metabolism as well as your weight loss efforts.

One very important point to remember is never skip breakfast.

Studies have shown that skipping breakfast leads to snacking and over eating. The simple act of having a healthy breakfast will not only start your day off right nutritionally but a healthy breakfast also provides your body with the fuel it needs to function properly.
