You must be able to recognize fad and crash diets and understand that even though these diets make great promises your body pays an enormous price and the results are only temporary. When you understand the limitations of fad and crash diets you will be better prepared to undertake the changes you need to achieve long term weight loss.

You also know that weight loss isn't just changing what you eat but it is a lifestyle change. It took years of eating to put on all the pounds and it iwll take a few months to lose all the weight. Just never doubt that you can do it. What should excite you now is that you now know how to finally lose the weight for good. .

As you can see, weight loss is so much more than just the weight itself. It’s more than just looking good or being able to fit into something, although those things have their importance. Weight loss is a holistic change of your life patterns and it goes deeper than just the issue of the weight itself. The process of weight loss will touch every aspect of your life so you must be willing to change any part of yoru life that becomes an obstacle to your weight loss.

So to get rid of the weight once and for all requires some serious thinking on your part to identify the root cause of the matter and as you have read in previous chapters, the weight is only part of the problem, changing how you think and respond to life is just as important to understand. Without this understanding you will have a very difficult time losing weight and keeping it off.
