- 4. PREVENT CRAMPS -

Chamomile really is a wonder drink when it comes to your menstrual cycles and symptoms of PMS.

Not only will it help improve your mood and prevent mood swings, but it can also minimise your cramps. Cramps are otherwise known as primary dysmenorrhea and can last for several days each month.

There is limited scientific research in this area, which means no one is really sure why, but so far, studies have suggested that drinking chamomile tea or taking supplements before, during, and after your menstrual cycle can help minimise cramping.

It’s thought the same soothing and nerve blocking properties mentioned above also mean that pain enzymes don’t spread as fast, so you feel less pain.

Also, the antispasmodic and relaxing properties help keep your muscles relaxed rather than tensing and cramping.

Chamomile contains trace amounts of quercetin, luteolin, and metoxicomarin, all have which have been proven to be antispasmodic and prevent muscle cramps.
