Possible Side Effects of CPAP

During the first few nights when you wear this device, it will make you nervous because it will not automatically be comfortable to wear.

Makes you want to stop sleep apnea treatment.

However, this would defeat the purpose. What you can do is to use low-pressure equipment at startup.

Most people who use CPAP say they experience side effects.

Most of them deal with the mask itself. You can choose a mask that makes you feel comfortable and prevents you from losing a lot of air pressure.

The following are some of the side effects, you may experience while using the device:

• Eye irritation.

• More air pressure than usual; when this happens, it may be difficult for you to exhale.

• If you don't do this, you will experience an upper respiratory tract infection.

Please keep the equipment clean.

• Irritation of the nose and throat.

• Dry mouth.

• Mouth pain.

• Congestion in the nose.

• Nasal sores caused by wearing the device too tightly.

• Chest muscle discomfort. It must be adjusted.

Your doctor or sleep specialist can teach you how to do this. Once you learn how, you can save money without going to a doctor or specialist (unless absolutely necessary).

You can also use equipment to help draw more air into your throat.

They are adjustable to meet your needs and let more air flow down your throat.

The device adjusts the air pressure while you sleep.

No need to press buttons or use dials to make adjustments. The adjustment is done automatically when you sleep.

If CPAP does not work for you, a mouthpiece or oral appliance is another option.

This device is used to keep your throat open so that you can breathe. It can help those who suffer from mild sleep apnea.

Although CPAP is more effective than mouthpieces, the latter has proven to be easier for some people to use while sleeping.

Move the lower jaw forward and open the throat. This can help you snore and treat mild obstructive sleep apnea.

You can get a mouthpiece from your dentist.

It may take a while to find what you think is suitable. It is important to see your dentist every six months after you start using it.

After the first year of use, you can see the dentist once a year.

You want to make sure it still fits and works properly. If you feel any discomfort, please feel free to contact your dentist for possible adjustments.
