Callin’ Me

Once I heard him a callin’ me

A visit I did not invite

Slowly making me sick as can be

No longer was there strength to fight

As I was beyond deepest despair

With a scalpel they did slice me

In attempt to fix and repair

The purpose I was not able to see

Hoping for health, try their medicine

As they tear my flesh from bone

A science of great discipline

Perhaps best if had been left alone

Come sit by me

Yes, sometimes life does seem unfair

Come sit by me

Let’s speak of disability

My body does show signs of wear

Yet, wonderful still life can be

Come sit by me

Depths of Despair

Today, I just don’t care

Believing life unfair

Challenge this if you dare

In the depths of despair

As I sit here in pain

Feeling that I’m insane

Happiness just can’t feign

Upon my face, tears stain

Faith struggle to maintain

What do I have to gain?

Today I need to rest

Some days that’s just my best

No longer filled with zest

Feeling I am hell’s guest

Knowing there’ll soon be sun

Along will come someone

Once again I’ll have fun

Depths of despair now done
