Food Traditions and Rituals

The consumption of specific foods is often associated with New Year's traditions and superstitions. In Italy, lentil soup is a staple dish, its coin-like shape symbolizing wealth and abundance. In Spain, the tradition of eating 12 grapes at midnight, one for each chime of the clock, is deeply rooted in the hope for a year filled with prosperity and good fortune.

In Brazil, consuming 12 different round fruits, such as apples, oranges, and grapes, is believed to bring luck, happiness, and abundance.
