Book Description HTML
Historic Oneida County: An Illustrated History tells the story of one of upstate New York's most historic regions. Utica is the county seat and the population focal point of the Oneida Region. The book is commissioned by the Oneida County Historical Society and was written by a collaboration of local historians: Joseph P. Bottini, Joan Klossner, Lou Parrotta, Janice Reilly, and Dennis Webster. The book tells the story of repeated growth and then decline, since before Oneida County's founding in 1798. "The history of Oneida County, New York is a tale of challenge, triumph, heartbreak, innovation, and grit," reads the book's Introduction.
