LESSON 04 - HOW TO SPONSOR NEW MEMBERS
In order to start making money with SFI you need to sponsor affiliates and customers and get them to purchase from you. The good news is that you don’t have to worry about selling to people. Membership for SFI and Tripleclicks is free so all you have to do is to get people to sign up for their free accounts. SFI will then email them on your behalf with their membership information and teach them how to get started. To help you sponsor people SFI provides you with a selection of marketing aids such as Gateway Pages, Banners and X-Cards which you can send to people as an invitation to join SFI.
A gateway page is a website that promotes SFI and Tripleclicks and contains your personal SFI user ID to make sure anyone who signs up becomes your PSA. In your affiliate center you will find a list of pages that you can use. Simply select “Gateway List” from the Reference menu and you will see a list of gateway pages you can use. All you need to do is choose one by copying the URL and add it to your advertising campaign.

There are various gateway pages for different sections of SFI such as the WAVE3 opportunity that you can use but I recommend you start off with the FREE GATEWAY which is the top of the list. You will notice that each gateway URL is embedded with your own SFI ID and not the 9330144 which is mine. When you click on the URL you will be presented with the gateway page. The page you will probably use the most is the “FREE” page as shown below.

VARIOUS MARKETING AIDS
SFI provides a huge collection of marketing aids you can use to promote SFI and Tripleclicks such as banners, splash pages and x-cards. It also provides information on how to use them. In order to learn more click on “Marketing Aids” from the Marketing menu or click on the link below.

This opens the marketing center which allows you to select which marketing aid you wish to use. By default it displays everything but you can filter them by clicking on the buttons and menus on the left hand side. In the following screenshot you can see that I have selected “Splash Pages” from the Type menu which displays all the splash pages you can use. Splash pages are created for Traffic Exchanges as they contain enough basic information to get people to sign up.
Notice that the left hand side of the screen contains buttons which you can select to display the aids you want to promote. There are also drop down menus below which allows you to choose which section of SFI you wish to promote such as SFI, Pricebenders and Tripleclicks. To get the information you need to promote these pages then click on the blue preview link below each image. For example, here is the information for the Tripleclicks Splash page.
BANNERS
Banners are smaller images in various sizes which can be displayed on traffic exchanges, banner exchanges and blogs. SFI provides the HTML code which you can copy and paste the banner into a blog or your own website if you wish to display it like that. In the screenshot below I have selected the SFI program button and “Banner” from the Type menu.
The standard size for a banner is 468x60 and is the best one to use for traffic exchanges. Notice that each marketing aid gives you the size and the type. Scroll down to find one with a size of 468x60 and click the blue Preview link and you will see the banner as displayed below.
In the HTML code you will see two URLS. One is for the gateway page and one is for the banner. On a traffic exchange you will need to place both URLS in the fields provided.
E-CARDS
Maybe you have friends and family who would be interested in SFI. If so then you can send them a electronic card by email. Click the link below for more information.
X-CARDS
One great way to promote SFI is to carry some X-Cards with you. These professional looking business cards contain enough information to encourage people to join. You can offer them to interested people on your travels or leave them in public places such as the dentist or doctor’s surgery.

SFI COOPS
The easiest way to bring new members into SFI is to use a SFI Coop. Instead of promoting SFI yourself you can pay professional marketers to do this for you. This is actually the best way to get started if you are not very good at advertising. The truth is that your marketing attempts might not be very successful if you are new to the game and can end up costing you time and money. By investing in a coop you are guaranteed to get new members. Here is a list of the best coops.
S-BUILDER
This is the cheapest option and the results can be slow but you are guaranteed to receive a share of new members generated by the SFI team. How many members you receive depends on how many shares you buy and how many members are brought in as a result of the advertising campaign.

PSAS TO GO
This coop allows you to buy a pack of 10, 20 or 50 new PSAs and you are guaranteed that many. Delivery is quite fast and usually within a week. I would recommend this if you have the money.

SPONSORING NEW MEMBERS
Once a PSA has joined your downline team you become their sponsor. As a sponsor your role is to be there for your team and be ready to answer their questions. You can start off by sending them a personal email introducing yourself and letting them know you are there for them. The following article contains some good information on becoming a good sponsor.
