What impression did your prospects get when they called you? Did you answer politely? Did you sound cheerful and friendly or did you sound like you were in a rush and their phone call was interrupting you? Were you able to build instant rapport and trust with them? what did they think when they saw your truck pull in to their drive? what impression did they get when you stepped out?
How can you tell? Well an amazing test to do is this. Get your wife/husband/partner to organize one of their friends to call with an inquiry. Afterward they can email you honest feedback about their perception of your business. Now obviously you are completely unaware who is going to call or when the call is going to be. You can learn so much about your business if you do mystery shopper audits on a regular basis. (on a completely side note they can also be a great way to measure the performance of your employees.)
Now that you know what your customers think of you what can you do to make their perception of even greater. It all starts with being professional.
