Chapter Sixteen

I have been living a lesson all day today.

What lesson would that be?

I am not really sure, but it has something to do with the amount of energy it takes to speak.

Interesting, I guess. What are you referring to when you say, "Speak?"

Like when you are talking to someone, but you are already burnt out or tired. I started paying close attention to what people would talk about, and I found that most things people say are beneficial to only themselves.

And you believe it may have something to do with the amount of effort it requires to talk?

Well, it's like this: When someone has done something commendable I will always make sure to acknowledge that, even if I am tired. At least a 'thank you', or a 'good job', or 'I see you dyed your hair, it's nice’, or whatever. I actually TRY to brighten peoples' day.

You are alluding to the fact that most people could care less about one another?

I guess so, but I don't think it is on purpose.  I think that they just lack the extra energy to go above and beyond. I can't tell you how many times I am the target for negativity, or the one who takes the blame for others.

This bothers you?

No, not at all because it doesn't bother me, I say nothing. Perhaps by not wasting words on pointless stuff like that, I conserve that little bit of extra energy to positively affect another. What do you think?

I think you may have hit on something here.

You see, I don't think people intentionally act as if they could care less for each other. I just think that maybe people spend so much time and energy defending themselves, they don't have enough left to speak when it really does count. You know what I mean right? How would you put it?

I would say, "It is far more important to help others SEE the WORLD as a perfect place, than it is to try and make others see you as the perfect person."

Wow, how do you do that? You always make it look so easy to sum things up!

It's what I do. But believe it or not, some will still have trouble grasping a concept like that. This is why authors will continue to appear and rewrite many of the same things time and time again. Understanding changes with time, as does the writing to be understood.

I see.

I AM INSTANT MESSAGING WITH BOBBY

In one of my conversations with my friend Bobby we discussed people and their problems.

What? You mean what follows?

Yeah. Here it is:

I told him “Here I am lying in a mud puddle and you’re splashing around in it like a kid because you know sooner or later the person in the mud will join in the fun and forget their loss. That is some damn good advice! "Splash around like a kid in the mud puddle that someone else finds themselves in. You might actually make them forget that they sat down in it!"

Nice.
