(160-170) Works Of Love IV

Our Duty To Love Those We See

Limitless Love In Our Time

Our love must be limitless

In a world of limitations

We may want to give up what's fastidious

But we're caught by imitations

The things we love are temporary

We are always buying what is new

Love itself is no longer exemplary

When we purchase love it's through

Delusions are ever augmenting

They come alive and are incremental

In a world of constant, consumer tempting

Can make us forget what's fundamental

Divine love is our fundamentality

The essence of all creation

When the material becomes our totality

We are lost in the commercial dimension

In that love is limitless

For it to fulfill the law

Perfection becomes a barrenness

And something to deplore

What we buy is sold as perfection

And perfection makes for delusion

To love our neighbor is our connection

To divine love in profusion

The divine we know but will never see

Our neighbor we can see and know

We love neighbors and touch eternity

The gracious gift that God bestows
