Void in My Chest
Happiness, on the search,
Seems like a needle in a haystack looking for joy on this earth.
Seems like I've been watching from the sidelines since birth,
Seeing my friends playing while I felt no self-worth.
Poems an escape route,
Trying to escape my roots,
Doing my best to change the subject and avoid the truth.
Loyalty is pain because those who are loyal rarely receive the same loyalty,
Even when they treat their loved ones as royalty.
Give my all but everyone still ignores me.
Trying to avoid eye contact,
Eyes are the gateways to the soul,
And my sadness is in plain sight in my eyes,
Sad no matter how much I try,
No matter if I were to die.
Pain is here,
And I don't know if it will ever go away.
