Even in a world gone dark

the spirit works as it will

bringing light to those we write off as hopeless

despite the headlines of fear

the wind continues to blow

through the lives of those it chooses

even in the heart that has been frozen

like the bitter of ice of a river

the current continues to flow just under the surface

despite the bitter howl of winter

the breath of God still whispers

accomplishing it’s purpose
