If you follow my Facebook or any of my blogs you know that I write poems from time to time. I know, I know, I’m going to a support group for help with this indulgence. However, I also recently had the opportunity to participate in a virtual poetry reading with poets from around the world. So I did. Below is a link to some audio from that event.
However, someone once told me that I should try adding music to my musings, so I decided to take his advice. One evening I improvised some music to go with this particular poem, and not only that, I added visuals to go along with the audio of my reading. So, unlike the people watching the original reading, you get to see so much more than me sitting there and talking. I know, this is almost too exciting for words, but it’s the truth.
This poem is called Our World of Longing and explores the human condition. It is the first entry in my book called Conversations After Midnight. Check it out. I know all this is pretty nerdy, so if you do check it out, it’ll be our little secret.
If anyone asks me, I’ll just say, “Thinking? Us? You got the wrong people officer! We weren’t thinking, we were just out drinking and burning old tires on main-street. Them other people, they’re the ones who were doing all the thinking.” Anyway, if you are using a compatible reader click the link below if you want to check out this video. If you aren’t using an ereader, you can still access this video on my website.
