Silence of the Lambs

THEY are talking about the silence of the lambs;
The slaughter of the children by the ‘man’.
The systematic introduction of illiteracy to each;
Each one reach one, but no one teach.
The enslavement of the little child with color;
We’re not the other white meat, not even the white other.
If we show them how to crawl without obstacles in their way
Will they ever learn to avoid the bureaucracy of today?
We pull them up to stand, maybe even support them till they walk;
Then we criticize them and assign blame to them for things that aren’t their fault.
We show them how to run, then we take away their shoes;
It’s a life without boundaries; they run right into the news.
Another black on black crime,
No one knows what to do,
Just take our children back –
If you can’t save the masses, save a few.
Give them their future by giving them facts;
Prepare each child today for tomorrow’s attack.
Society is crumbling, its foundation has been shaken;
We must arm the children with knowledge or their futures will be taken.
Today is a drop in the bucket of forever

No more are we birthed to believe in truth or good measure.

“In God we trust” – that was then, now it’s “In man we believe”;

We’ve forgotten that where there’s no prayer, there’s no power and no peace.

This disaster may be the costliest man has ever seen,

Forget slavery of the body, the mind has been weaned.

Don’t send them to fight until their armor we can amend;

The enemy’s attack is silent and swift, we are their first defense.

From the womb to the tomb it’s our duty to preserve their lives,

We must be the barrier between them and demise.

We must keep the lambs from being led into the ravine of despair,

Build fences by the precipice, post signs everywhere.

Let “someday” be today when they sing songs of overcoming;

Let their destiny be freedom when they march to the drumming.

There’s baa-ing of the black sheep in this life’s fairy tale,

Don’t let our lambs be silenced -

In this fight they must prevail.
