Wisdom (via 2001)

Is it better to remain silent and appear wise
Than to speak, removing all doubt
I'm not sure
But then the question arises
What does it mean to be wise
What is wisdom
Does it come with gray hairs and calloused hands
Does it come with courtesy or luxury
From having a family
Or from being content and self-reliable in single life
I'm not sure

I doubt anyone reaches a place of possessing full wisdom
It's merely a journey
People, all people, are able to obtain wisdom
However, unfortunately, some refuse to receive wisdom
From failures and or triumphs

This I realize as well
However, it's something I do need to do more often
To deny my pride
Deny stubbornness
And use my mistakes and broken heart
To obtain wisdom from my journey

May those who surround me not be a burden
But rather a blessing
For we all are on the same journey for wisdom
