I LOVE YOU

I don’t know you, woman, but I love you!

I ask myself

who it is that I really love.

The truth is

that I don’t have a woman

to love.

All I have is solitude.

All I have is my shadow.

All I have is my cancer.

All I have are my dreams.

All I have are my poems.

In my mind I repeat

I love you.

Je t’aime.

Ti volio bene.

I love you.

I feel shame and tears

roll down from my eyes.

They fall onto Mother Earth’s breast,

mixing and fertilizing

hope for a new love.

I don’t know you, woman, but I love you!
