MORNING COFFEE

The smell of coffee beans
Brewing in my steel contraption,
And the bubble and the gurgle
Give me enormous satisfaction.
I wait and watch the jug fill
With beautiful brown ink.
Some like wine and spirits,
But I prefer a caffeine drink.
The aroma gets me going;
The beans give me a zing.
My fix of coffee when I waken
Makes my morning sing.
The ritual of coffee
In my courtyard by the bay,
Watching birds as I awaken

With the caffeine, makes my day.
