LOVE SONG

I rushed in where angels won’t,
And bade an angel follow.
Now I nurse a broken heart,
And hopes all dashed and hollow.

I tried to soar up to the skies
Without an angel’s wings,
To catch a dream beyond my reach.
Ah, how that dream’s loss stings.

I sang a magic song to him
To move the stars above.
The only magic that it wove

Was my sad song of love.
