MORNING DESIRE

I lie awake impatient for the time
When trilling birds herald the break of day,
And bring to end this long night. My thoughts stray To you and bring to me wishes sublime.
Do your thoughts turn to me as you awaken
With morning yearning smouldering in your veins? And as your morning yearning slowly wanes,
Do you regret the path that you have taken?
This hour is mine to lie and dream of you,
And long to have you by me until morn,
To hold and take you, vanquish you by storm,
Possess you as the sun’s rays pierce through,
Then lie still and hold you for a time,

And feel your warm skin pressing against mine.
