ZIMBABWE
Ah, the senseless slaughter! Africa’s daughter, Zimbabwe Flows crimson, at the mercy of Mugabe. Why don’t we try to stop the murder, Intervene as we do where there is oil, And where we have vested interest, As in Israel?
The Middle East must keep the peace So we can extract fuel, But innocent Zimbabweans are left To struggle on unaided in their living hell. What hypocrites we are To pretend that we care For Palestinians who share A strategic position in the Middle East, Yet the lives of millions elsewhere Are lost to the machinations of a brutal beast, And hardly a word is uttered to protest.
Why don’t we send in armies, Plot to overthrow the tyrant? Why don’t we rant and rave To try to save the farmers, And their helpless wives and children? Why don’t we demand a halt To the bloodshed? What harm is there in doing that, As we do with the Jews, And the Arabs? To find fault In one place and ignore another, To see one as stranger, one as brother, Is to have double standards, But Zimbabwean land is Of no value to the west,

So neither are its people of interest.
