hollowed starlight -
the divet in the
hollowed-out moon
cradles me as i
lay inside, tucked deeply,
as if i were wrapped in a
hammock in the middle of
nowhere.
i row over
liquid moonlight,
currents of stars and
waves of outer space
churning beneath me.
my oar glides across the
surface, breaking the
utterly still tides, drawing me
upside down as i
float around
every single crater.
from beyond me, i see
twinkling stars and
brooding planets that i
cannot wait to carve into and
let swallow me whole.
a ripple
grows across the
clear water.
when it reaches me,
i scoop it up in my
fingertips and
tuck it in my
pocket, grinning.
i can’t wait to
show you what
i found.
