Demented

Do you remember peace?

Hang the book by a thread,

to watch it revolve

around its axis.

There was a time

when I hungered for

the right to

Life

Choice

Water

Equality.

I don’t recall Peace...

There is this bird,

intent on breaking its neck

against the mirror.

Nobody sees me flapping these dark wings!

They refuse to burst! They refuse to show

people

the open doors to a vile

Purgatory.

Do you remember war?

Ah, what a good cause!

I watched their blood flowing down my legs,

as I birthed

freedom.

This gun is worth a fortune!

I shot after the hurricane

with bullets that spelled

‘evil!’

backwards.

I don’t remember the child,

no! No! I don’t!

This table feels lonely at times,

for all the things I don’t remember!

Allow me to grab that rabbit by the ears,

for it is too violent with the carrot!

Skin him! Skin him!

Oh, Hypocrisy, don’t hide your pretty face!

I do remember Freedom!

Chained,

they dragged their feet across the

barren utopia.

My God! Did I protect my seed!

Call the priest!

The lights are going out!

He closed the book on the moth!

There was this thunder that rendered

children

limbless.

Forgive the sinner who signed his name in blood!

Call the priest!

I think I see the light!

My eyes are growing dim...
