I was born handicapped and Hispanic. Growing up with two major quarrels: Cerebral Palsy and culture shock, this book was my favorite escape!
Throughout my life, I have faced many adversities and have had great times. “The MESSAGE” is a compilation of poems written between 1996 and 2006. It is based on true events that I’ve endured as a teenager transitioning into an adult. I was raised in Ecuador, and by living in New York I have faced both emotional and social pressures.
Writing this book was a way coping with life’s everyday struggles and also as an avenue for self-expression. It is written in 5 separate books to represent major shifts in my life. “The MESSAGE contains poems in both Spanish and English languages not only for purposes of expression, but also to be directed to both types of English-speaking and Spanish-speaking individuals.
After reading these works, I am confident that these verses will open your mind to so many different perspectives and also appreciate God, Love, and Life like never before.
