My Friend, the Tiger

Knew the cub before he was a tiger,

I brought him up tenderly by myself,

Learnt to have the tiger besides me close,

Untamed they thought he was, but he wasn't,

For I tamed him, and in me he trusted,

I would feed him the food he liked the most.

Beef and lamb steaks is what he liked the most,

They all assumed he was a fierce tiger,

People were not who the tiger trusted,

But I brought him up, so only myself,

No one would I allow too near him close,

He'd kiss me for he knew who I wasn't.

Besides me I would hold my tiger close,

Hardly frightened of him, unlike the most,

They thought he'd eat me up, yet he wasn't

No other, but such a special tiger

I would feed him with my own hand myself;

Not so dangerous to those he trusted.

Ace being the one who the cub trusted,

Great to touch his soft fur and hold him close,

The relationship he had with myself,

Who'd distinguish his tame fur against most

of his ilk; I can spot out my tiger

When he's camouflaged, and when he wasn't.

Another thing that my tiger wasn't,

Was a fierce creature, not to be trusted,

He loved me for he was my pet tiger,

He knew since he was a cub, we were close;

What if he'd eaten me, wondered the most,

They were not quite as assured as myself.

Fierce tiger, only relied in myself,

As good as him, other tigers wasn't,

Far less dangerous tiger than the most,

People said he was not to be trusted,

That I was silly to get to him so close;

No, they didn't understand my tiger.

A friendship like myself and the tiger,

Was rare.  People's friendships wasn't as close;

One of my most golden allies trusted.
