THE BIBLE

The Bible is God’s Holy Book. The Bible is made up of 66 Books, 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. The name Bible is derived from the Greek word (BIBLOS) meaning book. The Bible is INSPIRED by God, which means it is God breathed. The Bible is INERRANT

GOD

God is from everlasting to everlasting. God is Holy, Righteous, Pure and without sin. God is a TRINITY. The word TRINITY means three is used to express a teaching of the Bible but is a word that is used to express a teaching of the Bible. God is one God, yet He has expressed Himself to us as three separate persons. The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. God is a God of Love and at the same time a God of Judgment. The attributes of God are that He is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. OMNISCIENCE----all knowledge, OMNIPRESENCE---everywhere at same time, a God at hand—OMNIPOTENCE--all powerful.

JESUS

Jesus is God’s only begotten Son. Jesus was with the Father during creation. There was never a time when Jesus did not exist. Jesus was born of a virgin, and He lived a sinless life. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Jesus had to die and shed His blood on the cross for our salvation. After His death he was in the grave three days and three nights and came out of the grave on the first day the week Sunday. By Jesus coming out of the grave He showed victory over death and the grave. Jesus now sits at God’s right hand making intercession for the save and welcome the sinner for salvation. Jesus is perfect, Holy, Just, Sinless and Righteous.

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the third part of the God Head. The Holy Spirit is not a (IT) He is a person.

There was never a time when He did not exist. We can see during creation the Holy Spirit was there (Genesis 1:2). All through the Old Testament we can see the Holy Spirit being mentioned.

The Holy Spirit is so time called the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit has different functions. The Holy Spirit leads, guides, comforts, convicts, teaches, and dwells in the believer. He is sometimes called the Spirit of Truth. After Jesus was glorified, the Holy Spirit was given on the day of Pentecost.

The Holy Spirit was given to the church to empower them and give them authority.

SALVATION

When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, he plunged the whole human race into sin. Sin is a transgression of God’s Law. Because of Sin, Death was passed to all man. The only way to escape eternal death is through Jesus Christ the Savior. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. All mankind has sinned and come short of God. We cannot save ourselves. Jesus came and paid the price on the cross by giving His life and shedding His blood for the atonement of sin. Salvation is by God’s grace through Jesus Christ. We must believe is not by works, baptism, church membership or anything else.

ETERNAL SECURITY

There are over 100 Bible Scriptures that teach Eternal Security. In most scriptures where Salvation is mentioned it is a mention of being everlasting, forever or eternal. Nowhere in the Bible does it show or teach any save person losing their salvation. A person can backslide and lost their fellowship with God or Jesus. Once you are born into the family of God you can not get unborn.

The Lord Jesus is Eternal and what He does for the believer is Eternal. We are saved by the power of God and kept by His power. (I Peter 1:5) In John 10: 28 I give unto them eternal life… neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand… Verse 29 My Father which gave them me, is greater than all: and no man is able to pluck out of my Father’s hand. To say you can lose your salvation is to say that you have God’s power and are greater than GOD.

THE BLOOD

For a person to be saved blood had to be shed. All thought the Old Testament blood was shed to atone for sin. Each year the High priest had to make a blood sacrifice for his sins and then for the sins of the people. All the sacrifices pointed to when Jesus would come and shed His blood for an atonement for sins, past, present, and future. The Bible says without the shedding of blood there is no remissions for sins. (Hebrews 9:22) All the blood of animals could not atone for sins. The only thing it did was to push back their sins for one more year until Jesus came and shed his blood for sin. The Bible says that we are redeemed by the precious blood of Christ.

ATONEMENT

The word (Atonement) means the act of atoning, amends, or reconciliation. The reconciliation of God with man through Christ. Atonement is made by Jesus through His blood. Jesus came to take away sin by His blood and to bring us to God. John the apostle stated that Jesus is the One that can take away sin. (John 1:29) Jesus stated that if He be lifted up, He would draw all men unto Him (John12:32) By Jesus death and the shedding of His blood He made an atonement for all men. We are made nigh to God by the blood of Jesus. Jesus paid the price for atonement by giving His life on the cross.

BAPTISM

The Greek word for Baptize is (BAPTIZO) which means to dip or immersed.

Jesus while here on earth gave the authority to the CHURCH to baptize. Every New Testament Christian was baptized into a local New Testament Church. Baptism is the first step to obedience after a person is saved. A person is baptized to identify themselves with Christ. It is also a step in a person new walk with the Lord. A person takes upon themselves a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

In the New Testament we fine all that were saved were baptize by being immersed. There is not one account of anyone being sprinkled or having water poured on them for baptism.

John the one called a Baptist only baptized those that had confessed their sins and believed in Jesus.

We find the New Testament Church baptize only those who believe first.

God gave the authority to John to baptize (John 1:6; John 1:26-28; Mark 11:27-33). When Jesus had established His Church, He gave it the authority to baptize. A Preacher, Minister or a Missionary cannot baptize anyone unless the Church so gives them the authority to do so.

LORD’S SUPPER

The supper was instituted by the Lord Jesus himself, before His crucifixion. At the first Supper we find that only members of the Church were there. As you study the Scriptures you will find Judas had dismissed himself before Jesus instituted the Supper. So only saved baptized Church members were there.

There were two elements the bread and the fruit of the vine.

The Church was told to observe the Supper till the Lord would return. The supper was given to show the Lord’s death. We are to observe the Supper in remembrance of Jesus. (I Corinthians 11:26)

Paul taught the Church at Corinth about the Lord’s Supper. (1 Corinthians 1:2) The Lord Supper is a Church Ordinances not a Denomination one. A person must be saved and a member of the church observing the Lord’s Supper to be able to foretake of it. Salvation is first, baptism second and then the Lord Supper and only in the order.

The Lord’s Supper is not a Sacrament for all those that call it so, believes that in taking the Lord’s Supper, it saves you, or keeps you saved. The Lord’s Supper does nothing for our Salvation, for Salvation is by GRACE and GRACE ONLY.

It is the Lord’s Supper and rightly named or called that and we have NO RIGHT to invite anyone to it.

FAITH

There are three Greek words used in the New Testament for the word FAITH. 1. PISTIS means conviction of religious truth or the truthfulness of God or a religious teaching, or a systems of religious teaching truth itself, assurance, belief, or fidelity. 2. OLIGOPISTOS. means lacking confidence in Christ as in (Luke 12:28). 3. ELPIS means to anticipate, usually with confidence as used in (Hebrews 10:23).

The Bible says Faith is the substance of things hoped for me evidence of things not seen. We must exercise our faith in Jesus to be saved. In Jude 3 we see Faith stands for a system of teaching that Christ delivered unto the saints.
