DO WE HAVE AN IMMORTAL SOUL?

Humans supposedly having an immortal soul is another invention of man that’s generally accepted as being from GOD. This belief was prevalent amongst the pagans, including the Egyptians, long before the Bible was written. Anything Pagans believe is usually always a lie.

Common sense tells us that if we had an immortal soul, we would not need a Resurrection. The Bible is emphatic about a resurrection of the dead. Christ would’ve gone straight to Heaven instead of the grave if He had an immortal soul. He did go to the grave for 3 days, so this removes any doubt.

Some facts, not man-made opinions: -

• The original Hebrew word translated as ‘soul’ by men was ‘Nephesh’, which means ‘a living, breathing creature’, so animals are souls also.
• “The soul who sins shall die.” Ezekiel 18:4, 20. Can’t be very immortal, can it?
• “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” Eccl 9:5 “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” verse 10. Dead & buried! Not immortal, not in Heaven.
• “Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.” Daniel 12:2 The dead are asleep, not awake, yet.
• 1Corinthians 15 explains the resurrection in more detail and also see the Chapter on the ‘Resurrections of the Dead’, yes plural. The Message Bible gives a very good explanation of this subject: -

• “We aren’t immortal. We don’t last long. Like our dogs, we age and weaken and die.” Psalm 49:20 MSG.

So, this myth is busted. Check out the attached links for more detailed research. Always remember though that the word ‘soul’ in Hebrew means any living, breathing creature. This and other false doctrines are designed to confuse and hide the Truth. There is a ‘spirit’ in man which is what distinguishes us from the animals. “Evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” 2Timothy 3:13 NIV

Knowing the true teachings will be even more important as we approach the end of the age of man’s rule, led by Satan. When the 2 witnesses finally appear, they will only speak God’s Truth. Most will scoff at them, and some will try to kill them, but they will burn up their tormentors, until God allows them to be assassinated. Rev 11:3-7. If people don’t know what God’s Truth is, they won’t recognize His true witnesses, and may even be deceived by false teachers into taking the mark of the Beast. Ezekiel 18:1-4 uses the word ‘soul’ in the correct context. “Every soul - man, woman, child - belongs to me, parent and child alike. You die for your own sin, not another’s.” MSG
