CHAPTER SEVEN

OUR STRENGHT IN WEAKNESS

We all have some weakness of some sort whether we want to admit it or not. Some of us maybe weak when it comes to food, in that when we find ourselves hungry, we will try to eat up everything in sight. Some of us may be weak when it comes to controlling our anger. Some of us may be weak when it comes to handling money, when we get our pay from our job, instead of paying our tithes, bills, and providing for our families, we go out to gamble our money away, or buy something that we don't really need.

Some of us are weak when it comes to men or women, in that, you feel like you have to sleep with every woman or man just to feel satisfied. The Bible says in (Mathew 26:41) that we must watch and pray that we enter not into temptation, the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak”, no matter who you are you have a weakness that you need to deal with. But the good thing is that you don't have to let your weakness get the best of you. There is someone who is able to help you overcome your shortcomings. That someone is Jesus.

The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become

my salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare him

an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt

him. Exodus 15:2

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my

way perfect. 2 Samuel 22:33

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall

I fear? The Lord is my life; of whom shall I be

afraid? Psalm 27:1

God is our refuse and strength, a very present help

in trouble. Psalm 46:1

No matter what you may be going through just know that you can find strength in the Lord to move on with your life, to receive the blessings that he has for you, and to claim the victory over your weakness.

“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is

made perfect in weakness”. 2 Corinthians 12:9

The strength of the world vs. the strength of God

The strength of the world and the strength of God are so different. In the world strength is gain through military power, nations building bigger weapons and waging war. In economic power- companies buying other companies or political power - dictators arresting or executing those who refuse to follow them. In sexual power – those who exploit, and ensnare others through pornography etc. We could give so many other examples. In each case those who have worldly strength hold on to their power by intimidating oppressing or seducing those with little strength. The strong in this world are glorified by breaking those under them.

But the glory of God is seen through giving power to the weak, by giving and renewing and increasing the strength of those who take refuge
