The Blessing of Abraham

Papa Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness. He is also called the Father of Faith. God confirming that deliver unto Papa Ab anyone that is of faith.

Galatians 3 v 9

So then they which BE OF FAITH are blessed with faithful Abraham.

These few lines are written to establish our heart that papa Ab is the father of faith. God made him so in addition; anything that is of faith God delivers to Papa Ab. So this means if you are of faith papa Ab is your father. Simple enough right? Good! Let’s move.

Similarities (ies) Between Isaac And Jesus Christ

Firstly let’s look deeply into Isaac. Isaac is called “The child of promise” from our previous studies; I have spent quality time on explaining the birth of Isaac. I will now go in a little deeper.

Is there any Prophet among you? Come let us see this together;

Genesis 18 v 10 - 14

And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?

Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Did you know that Papa Ab had stopped sleeping with Mama Sarah long before this day that the LORD visited them? This is one of the reasons Sarah laughed, it was a situation of impossibilities, just for the record, in the birth of Isaac, Papa Ab gave up on expecting a child from Mama Sarah, his faith is not as perfect as we do exaggerate, its God that perfected him. If Papa Ab had fully believed God, he wouldn’t accept the offer of Sarah to sleep with Hagar and moreover after the birth of Ismael, Papa Ab still didn’t believe that Sarah would conceive and bear him a son.

Genesis 17 v 15 -

And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.

Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

This happened before the day Sarah laughed at God, this shows to us that both of them were tired hearing God say this to them all the time. They were just humble people listening to God as he rehearses the same promise. Papa Ab was no longer sleeping with Sarah with the hope of her getting pregnant. God understood their conditions, so He declared it again; “Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. Isaac was conceived at the time the Lord appointed not at the time Papa Abraham slept with Mama Sarah.

This supernatural means of conceiving Isaac made it possible for God to establish a spiritual family on earth with mortal bodies.
