CHAPTER 7

JESUS

There is no better “type” of the Last Days Church then our Lord Jesus Christ himself. He, like King David, spends three and one-half (3 ½) years of ministry, mainly in the wilderness, that has some strong parallels to the last days. There is that 3 ½ years again.

We know very little about the early life of Jesus, other than the fact that King Herod tries to kill him soon after he is born. Killing babies appears to be one of Satan’s primary weapons against God’s plan for mankind. Throughout the entire Bible are stories of people killing babies and God’s judgment for what God calls an abomination. As of this writing, nearly one billion (1,000,000,000) babies have been aborted in the last sixty years. This is evidence that Satan is very afraid and is pulling out all the stops to prevent the manifestation of the sons of God.

We know from historical sources that Herod the Great died in 4 B.C.; we know from the Bible that Jesus was born before Herod died. Most Bible scholars agree that Jesus probably began his ministry in late AD 26 (probably during the feast of tabernacles) and was crucified three and one-half (3 and ½) years later on the Feast of Passover, AD 30. The gospel of Luke also mentions that Jesus was thirty (30) years old when he was baptized by John the Baptist.

Luk 3:22  And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Luk 3:23  And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,

Most Bible scholars agree with a 3 ½ ministry because the gospel of John mentions three Passovers: John 2:13; 6:4; 11:55. John also mentions a feast in John 5:1, which is almost certainly a Passover since many ancient manuscripts call it “the feast of the Jews”.
