CHANGE

I was once scarred, scorned and a soul that was lost;

I remember stumbling around in the dark at no cost.

My daughter told me, “I hate you and you will never change;”

It hurt so bad, the thought of watching me drive my family insane.

I worried my family would never ever be restored;

I thought there was no hope, seeing me life being destroyed.

I decided I had to change because I knew God had a better plan;

For me to help others and lead them to His heavenly hands.

Every day I wake up, I’m determined to stay focus, on the prize;

Of joy, peace, self-worth and relief from despise.

Today I live by faith and through God, I can forgive;

Today I’m worthy of life and today I can live.

I choose to take the narrow path of endurance, kindness and righteousness;

Today I am a person with strength, patience and of great mightiness.

Every day is a struggle, so I pray to stay humble;

Today I live by God’s will and know how to pray when I stumble.
