The Door of Pain

Friday morning, 03/07/08 Dear LORD,
I want to feel You.
I need to understand the cross.
Love,
S.

Dear S.,
I am showing you what I went through on the cross. I am bringing people, into your life,
who are experiencing great pain.
Are you ready to experience what I did?
Are you willing to experience My pain?
Love,
God

Dear LORD,
Yes. I am willing.
I need to feel You.
I need to love You more. Love,
S.

that afternoon
Dear LORD,
L. just came to my classroom and asked me to pray for E. D.

He was born earlier this week to a woman who is our co-worker. Last night, he had nursed himself to sleep in her arms.
A little while later, she realized that he didnt look right.
He had stopped breathing.
They gave him CPRand airlifted him to Childrens Hospital.
Please help them!
Show me what You are doing so that I can pray with You.
Help me to pray Your will.

Dear LORD,
Everything that You have shown me in the hills today; everything You have been speaking to me; everything You have been preparing me for, calls for perseverance in believing prayer. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I can continue to pray, in accordance with Your will, for complete healing.
Love,
S.

Monday afternoon, 03/10/08
Dear LORD,
Thank You for inhabiting the prayers of Your people. Thank You for giving us favor with our workplace to meet for prayer, and for bringing C. and J., who are not believers, to hear and bear witness to our petitions for E. D.. They will not be disappointed. You have placed it upon our hearts to pray for complete healing that Your glory might be manifest to many, and draw them to You. We sense that You are doing a great work in our hearts, and in the hearts of people who do not yet know You. Help us to continue to pray with faith. We are in it for the long haul. Thank You for calling us into partnership with You. There is nothing else I desire.
Love,
S.

Friday afternoon, 03/14/08
Dear LORD,
E. D.s doctors are telling his parents that his life expectancy will only be about two years, and he will have cerebral palsy and mental retardation. They are saying that the parents need to make the hard decisions about whether to take him off life support and let him die, or continue trying to save him. Please protect him. Please help his parents to make the right decisions. I am not backing down from crying out to You for complete healing. You are faithful. Please minister to those who are feeling discouragement. Remind them of Your omnipotence, Your sovereignty, and Your love. Use me however You will. Help me to persevere in believing prayer. May Your name be praised! Monday, 03/17/08

Dear LORD,
I just got the news. They pulled the plug on E.D., and let him die. I dont understand. Love,
S.

Saturday morning, 03/22/08
Dear LORD,
Last night, after the movie “The Passion of the Christ”, Pastor T. spoke of the pain that You feel when we, who have professed to be Christians, do not commit our lives to You. This is the pain that You showed me this past week. Thank You for allowing me to share, a little bit, of Your suffering. Thank You for the cross; and for Your continuing agony of intercessory prayer for us, as we grapple with the wonderful, awful liability of free will. Love,
S.

Dear S.,
It is only when you truly love your enemies that you can understand this. Now, pray for those who persecute Me.
