Since God gave man authority over the third, fourth, and fifth days or stages, we would be the closest things or beings to God. This is true today as man does have authority over all things and the power un-fortunately to end all life on earth. In this passage, however, there is no reference to man having authority over the heavens (space). This is also true today as we cannot even journey to our neighboring planets (Mars, Venus), much less to the end of the galaxy or the end of space (whatever or wherever that may be).
Since we cannot physically become light, travel to the end of the heavens (space) is not and never will be a possibility for us. Is it any wonder that we were not given authority over the heavens? It was not stated; therefore, it is not a possibility.
THEN GOD SAW EVERYTHING THAT HE HAD MADE, AND
INDEED IT WAS VERY GOOD. SO THE EVENING AND THE
MORNING WERE THE SIXTH DAY.
