Blessing - "Empowered to Get Results"

"To be blessed" means 'to be favored by God'... God blesses those who walk in faithfulness - He shows favor to those who favor Him, obeys His Word and walks in Love. Blessings therefore are directly associated with God and come from God. So concequencely, to express a blessing, is like bestowing a wish on someone that they will experience the favor of God. A blessing,  is the infusion of something with holiness, divine will, or one's hope or approval. You don't have to worry from one day to the next about your circumstances, because there is a steadiness about a faithful walk with God…. (Phil. 4:19) Wealth and all other blessings come from God. He does it because he loves us, not because we deserve it.

We all need favour. It is essential for success in all areas of our lives... Grace makes a man function without struggle while favour makes a man receive without asking. But one of the ways God shows His goodness to people is through divine favour. For example:

…(Joshua 1:8). 3 John 1:2).

The Beatitudes - Matthew (5:3-10).

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Verse 3)

Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land. (Verse 4)

Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted. (Verse 5)

Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall have their fill. (Verse 6)

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (Verse 7)

Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God. (Verse 8)

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (Verse 9)

Blessed are they that suffer persecution for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Verse 10)

Blessing Blockers

a) Unforgiveness. Unwillingness or inability to forgive will always create blessing blockers. Even God says that He cannot hear your prayers or requests if you insist on not forgiving (Mat. 6:15; Isa. 59:1-3). Because unforgiveness releases 33 tormentors, it produces endless traps and pits for you to fall into and cry out in vain. The only prayer that God can hear and act on is the one in which you first ask for the grace or empowerment to forgive and then ask for blessings upon your enemies

b) Gossip is the second most powerful blessing blocker. This is because it is a love blocker as well. Love means faith and one speaking out in faith. Gossip does not allow love to flow from you to others. Other ungodly things flow from you, and they also stop words of faith so that no matter what you ask for, it cannot and will not be given you from God until you acknowledge your sin and start speaking blessings and love over those whom you were gossiping about.

c) Disobedience (to God's word, laws, ordinances and judgments). When your children are deliberately disobedient, do you reward them for their disobedience, or do you hold everything back until they come in line with your instructions? Well, with God it is very similar. Your deliberate disobedience allows Satan a legal claim to what God wanted to bless you with. This is because you are submitting to the kingdom of darkness and not to God's kingdom.

d) Anger-Rage. If you cannot control your anger, you cannot be empowered with a blessing from God. You may have claim to the blessing -- but not the power or the authority to see it manifest. Anger-rage is not a righteous anger and it is most certainly not walking in love and faith. Anger-rage is a principality that is the third in command under Satan and after betrayal. This demon is one that shuts down several centers of the brain whenever it feels the slightest threat coming its way. It can shut down most connection spots between the brain and the mind. It also stops most connection spots between mates so that the blessing of oneness is gone.

Anger-rage is also an effect of not showing honor to parents. People first learn how to block blessings by being angry with their parents. God asks parents not to provoke their children to anger (Col. 3:21) because once anger is provoked in children, it continues to grow and consume their life. Even in the fifth commandment we see that the promise of a long healthy life depends on the honoring of parents and the freedom from anger-rage. Because of this anger-rage we see that most people die before their seventies. Yet God did assign people to a 120-year life span if they honored their parents and did not marry anger-rage (Gen. 6:3). Even being around a man filled with anger-rage can stop your blessings. Proverbs 27:3 says, "A stone is heavy and sand is weighty, but the provocation of a fool [in anger-rage] is heavier than both of them." The person filled with anger-rage will crush you. Those you hang around inevitably influence you.

e) Lust. Living your life by lust means you focus your desires on pleasing the flesh. You are unable to see others, or even God. In lust you cannot approach the throne of God in faith and truth; anything asked for will be for self-consumption.

Proverbs 27:20 Sheol (hell) and Abaddon (death) are never satisfied, nor are the lustful eyes of man.

Lust empties a man of peace, love, truth, and integrity. Then lust establishes its vacuum that can never be filled until Jesus and His fullness is properly established. Yet this becomes impossible without prayers in the spirit for the person affected.

f) Rejection. This demon gets us to claim what the neighbors say over your life and not accept what God says. We therefore open the door for rejection as people are trying to declare guilt over you, to make you ashamed, to trap you in the net, to remove joy and replace grief into your soul. We take on a dread of seeing neighbors and relatives because of the pain of rejection, slander, accusation and the sorrow that it brings. We allow their words to cause dread so that we become broken vessels in a state of terror that invites more persecution and rejection.

Our answer begins with Psalm 31:14-15: "But as for me, I trust in you, [Jesus]. I [keep saying] , 'You are my God.' My times are in your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me [and reject me]."

g) Wrong attitudes represent another group of blessing stoppers. Some of these are pride, selfishness, contempt, self-esteem, self-glorification, and want. These basic attitudes shape our outlook as to how and when we accept Jesus and turn things over to Him. These blockers are the attitudes that confirm our "right" to sin, to transgress, to miss the mark that God has set for our life.

As in the case of Cain, it is the hard wiring of the brain that amplifies our right to choose wrongly and defy the purpose and will of God. It is what causes our countenance to fall and to seek self-justification. We seek to deny the existence of sin, the responsibility for the wrong choice and avoid the consequences by defying or lying.

In Psalm 32:3,5 we see David come to grips with his attitudes and fallen countenance. V.3 When I kept silent about my sin, iniquity, transgression, and wrong choices, my body wasted away, through my groaning, complaining, murmuring and sympathy-seeking.

V.5 And when I acknowledged my sin to you, and my sins and iniquity I did not hide; I acknowledged my wrong attitude and said, "I will confess my transgression to the Eternal," and You did forgive the iniquity, guilt, shame, and wrong attitudes of my sin.

Cain did not want to confess sin or acknowledge anything wrong to God because he believed he had a right to them, while David spoke out from his heart that he wanted his attitudes to change so that he stayed right with God.

h) No seed sown. God has declared that our world will be run by seed time and harvest time. If you do not sow by giving, tithing and releasing, then you are in the hand of the destroyer who seeks to get, instead of give. Satan is a thief, and those who seek to get without giving first are thieves and seek only to steal, kill, and destroy. If this attitude of the fear of sowing does not change, you cannot ever harvest increase, peace and security. Prosperity avoids you because you do not adhere to the laws of increase and wealth.

i) No thankfulness. If you are not thankful for what you have already been given, you do not qualify for any increase or blessing. Being thankful in faith seems to be the greatest key to open any door for a blessing or need being met. Yet this is the most avoided or most often neglected door opener to blessings. Even Jesus gave thanks in advance before He received a need.

Read out Matthew 15:36-38. Look at the difference between asking for mercy and cleansing to what happened to the one who came and gave thanks

Read out Matthew 17: 36-38. You will notice that the one leper who gave thanks was not merely cleansed, but he was also completely healed. A foreigner got healed because of thankfulness, while those who were "praisers" (meaning of word "Judah") could not be bothered to give thanks.

j) No heart or sincerity. Any attitude of "routinism" or boring duty not only stops blessings, but it can also cause the removal of the blessings you have. To open a door to attack by demons is easy enough, but when you take God for granted, you lose your zeal to hear Him, obey and love Him. Example: suppose a person who hurt you in 1972 comes to you 2 or 3 times a week and explains what happened and then asks you for forgiveness. You forgave him at the time but have grown to resent his presence, his voice, his repetitiveness, his lack of belief that you forgave him and the routinism of his story and begging. To repeat something over and over, without belief and acceptance is to say, "I do not have the heart in what I am saying, I AM FILLED TO OVERFLOWING WITH INSINCERITY, AND I THINK YOU ARE TOO." Our God is love and He does not want to hear nor see that in us. It prevents His love from flowing and His blessings from being released.

 k) Taking God's Name in Vain: The test of our spiritual cleanliness is how we use the name of God, whether in truth or vanity. Exodus 20:7
