Chapter Sixteen

Are You Born Again?

There will come a time when you will have to confront yourself with this question. It is a question that is perhaps the most important question that you will ever be faced with in life. You are now able to understand why the Lord has been able to give me this knowledge and enable me dispense it to the world. If you have learnt something from this book, then you are a person who is ready to be born again. How does a person become born again. The Lord taught a Pharisee called Nicodemus what it meant to be born again. Here is what Jesus taught Nicodemus;

John 3:1  There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

John 3:2  The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

John 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:4  Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

John 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

John 3:6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:7  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

John 3:8  The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

John 3:9  Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

John 3:10  Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

John 3:11  Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

John 3:12  If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

John 3:13  And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

John 3:14  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

John 3:15  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Nicodemus was a religious leader but did not know the way to heaven! He was just like the religious leaders of this modern age whom you may call priests, vicars, the pope, bishops, monsignor, nuns and sisters among many others. Nicodemus was a teacher of the law of God. He was supposed to know the way to heaven and yet he did not. What was he then teaching the people in Israel? He was teaching them to obey the law but without knowledge as to what the obedience would lead to. The people were being lied to by Nicodemus. Had it been that he knew the way to life, he would have known who the Lord was! He was a hypocrite who shouldn’t have been deemed to be a teacher. He is just like the teachers who are called religious leaders today. They need the same knowledge that Nicodemus acquired from Jesus. Have you understood what a born again person is? This is someone who has died with the Lord Jesus Christ and has resurrected with Him. A person who has died with the Lord Jesus Christ but has not resurrected with Him cannot be born again because he has stayed in the grave. The Lord was in the grave for only three days. Likewise, do not aspire to stay in the grave. Leave the grave and resurrect with Jesus, who is now in heaven with the Father and awaits you with much love. There are people who think that Jesus is still on the cross. No! He was on the cross for just hours! He is Alive; he did not stay long in the grave. If you know the Lord as being on the cross, you are dead already, just as if you know the Lord as still being in the grave. If you know the Lord as God, know that he is God to the living not the dead. It is what Jesus teaches us in the book of Matthew 22:32, “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living”.  If you are in the grave, you are essentially in a place where God is not able to be your God. You may have a god, but know for sure, that it is not God. God is only able to be reached through the resurrected Jesus who is in heaven with the Father.
