I believe that the “slaying of the great ones” will begin to increase more and more as the return of Jesus Christ approaches. We already see the persecution, murder, and enslavement of Christians in Muslim countries around the world, but I believe the murder of Christians will begin to increase noticeably in nominally Christian nations.
Joh 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
Joh 16:3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
We have already seen demonically inspired mass murderers specifically targeting Christians in Churches around the world… including the United States. I suspect that this will become such a common occurrence that the national news will probably stop covering it, and you will only hear of the murders if they actually happen in your own home town or neighborhood.
However, the murder of Christians will NOT go un-noticed by God! As the murder of Christians increases…I suspect that God will unleash Satan on the world and natural disasters, and there death toll, will begin to increase.
Consequently, law and order will begin to break down causing a snowball effect, criminals and crime will increase dramatically.

I mentioned in a blog article that the United States has been in perpetual war since the beginning of the George W. Bush presidency. However, the years 2020 - 2021 may be the beginning of something much, much bigger…perhaps the start of World War 3.
Rev 6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
Rev 6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

It appears that around this time period, the four horsemen of the apocalypse will be released upon the world.
Interestingly, two secular authors predicted another great war on, or about, 2020 AD. In 1997, William Strauss and Neil Howe, wrote a book called “The Fourth Turning” based on generational cycles, the two authors made several predictions that appear to have come true. They predicted a rise in terrorism and an economic downturn in the world economy. They looked back at United States History and noticed that the country has been engulfed in major wars about every eighty (80) years…i.e. the revolutionary war (1775 – 1783), the civil war (1861 -1865), and World War 2 (1941-1945). Therefore, they predicted that the U.S. could be involved in another major conflict around the year 2020.
When this final world war begins, I believe it will descend rapidly into TOTAL WAR!
Total war is warfare that includes any and all civilian-associated resources and infrastructure as legitimate military targets, mobilizes all of the resources of society to fight the war, and gives priority to warfare over non-combatant needs.

Due to the modern “high-tech” nature of war these days, I suspect that both men and women, plus anybody with “special skills”, will be required to register with the Selective Service, regardless of their age or their willingness to serve. A civilian and military draft will probably be reinstated in countries around the world.
