Apparently there is a crescendo of terror, both natural and manmade. If a person is not killed in war, he or she faces the terror of death in an earthquake, or by starvation, or by disease. There will probably be major earthquakes in the usual places, but there might also be earthquakes in places that have historically never experienced earthquakes.
Luk 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
The Book of Revelation says that the four horsemen of the apocalypse will effect or kill fully one quarter of the world’s population…over one and a half billion (1,750,000,000) people!
Rev 6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

It appears that the saints of God will be specifically targeted during this massive war that engulfs the planet. Satan must take great delight in pitting Christians against Christians. During World War 1 millions of Christians died, then during World War 2 tens of millions of Christians died, I suspect that during World War 3 hundreds of millions of Christians will die. People who are constantly stirring up trouble between Christian people are obviously motivated by Satan. Therefore, I believe the two main participants in the third world war will be the nominally “Christian” nations of Russia and the United States of America.
Rev 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
This may also be the year when a “temporary” world peace is negotiated.
Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
