It looks like demonic entities will be released upon the world in a spectacular fashion. When we see people committing mass murder in unprecedented numbers, we can only believe that they are demented or demon possessed. The antichrist is described as the BEAST.
BEAST: G2342, thērion
Thayer Definition:
1) an animal
2) a wild animal, wild beast, beast
3) metaphorically a brutal, bestial man, savage, ferocious
I believe the antichrist’s followers will also be “bestial” and “savage”. They will transform themselves more and more into the image of the one they worship. Similar to how the followers of Jesus should be transformed more and more into His image. I think the transformation of the antichrist’s worshippers is probably due to the fact that they have opened themselves up to spiritually dark and demonic influences.
The Apostle Paul gives a disturbing description of those who have turned their backs on God:
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
We do not need an overactive imagination to visualize these reprobate and lost people. We simply need to watch the evening news and we can see people doing things that would have been unimaginable a few years ago. If you live in a large city, you only need to explore the downtown areas and you can see these “beast people” up close…don’t go after dark! There are places in many major metropolitan areas where even the police do not want to go.
2Pe 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
2Pe 2:11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
2Pe 2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
As lawlessness increases and starts to become “normal” behavior, Christians will begin to leave the cities and search for small rural population areas to live. However, when the antichrist consolidates his power, even rural populations will probably become less and less safe for Christians.
