The Lost Person
We that are saved by God's grace should always keep in mind that a lost person, one that is not saved, is going to behave as a lost person does. Just as we did before we had gotten saved. So we shouldn't be to surprised if lost people are: fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, thieves, drunkards, extortioners, and etc... Because they are in bondage under the elements of this world, by the god of this world (Satan) influencing them to do things which are not good, and he has blinded their minds from the truth.
2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not...
So let me put it this way; say one day you're walking on the sidewalk and all of the sudden you see a man who is physically blind, who has lost his way and is in the road headed straight for a uncovered manhole. Would you say; well if he falls down into that manhole and gets hurt or is killed, it will be his fault for being blind. Or would you run to the blind man and warn him, that if he keeps heading in that same direction to where that open manhole is, that he will fall down into it, and be severely hurt or killed.
I would think we would all warn the blind man of the danger that is just ahead of him. Well if that is so, should we not also warn the lost person who is spiritually blinded by Satan, and is in bondage under the elements of this world. By being lead by the lust of their flesh. Yes, we should warn them that they too are headed for danger; because of them being on that broad road that does lead to destruction, and the end thereof will be hell.
But besides just warning the lost person of the dangers of them not being saved. We that are Christians should always show them the love of God, which is in us, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. By sharing with them the gospel of Jesus Christ (the Good News), so they by God's grace may become saved, and be set free from the bondage of sin, and no longer be captive by Satan or blinded from the truth, by his deceptions and lies.
2 Corinthians 4:3-7 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
So we that are saved should always realize that we fight not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
So because of that we shouldn't strive with the lost person, but be gentle and with meekness sharing with them the truth, which is in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and pray for them daily, so they by God's grace may be saved, and be set free from the bondage of Satan and sin.
2 Timothy 2:24-26 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
Ephesians 2:1-10 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Titus 3:2-7 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
