that you have big excess baggage to rid yourself of. These are demons of your own making.

The first crucial step you have to make is to recognize you have a problem, and that you must find a way to solve your problem.

The second step is to recognize that you need help. There is no shame in this. Please do not feel like a failure, or that there is something wrong with you because you need help to get out of your problems.   Everyone has real problems from time to time, and everybody needs help from time to time.

If you have an alcohol or drug problem, get yourself some help from a rehab center. Join a recovering addicts’ support group—you need to be around people who are experiencing the same struggles, as well as people who are addiction-free and have the experience to help you.

The same goes if you have a psychological problem. Get a psychiatrist or psychologist’s help, as well as the help of community or support groups.

If you are a particularly religious person, on top of getting professional help, find a healing or support group that’s precisely for people with similar struggles.

Give yourself time to heal! Don’t expect to solve it overnight. It takes a lot of work.
