It took two or three years at college before Chris discovered he had to trade his glasses for contact lenses, so he could easily shift from one character to another in his college stage plays. He also had to cut his hair even shorter, down to nearly a buzz cut, so he could comfortably wear character wigs.
Despite his shyness, Chris made an important decision: he decided he had to do all the physical changes necessary throughout his life, if he were to remain dedicated to his craft and have a career in acting or music. So he took the plunge and cut off his hair, and got rid of his glasses.
A friend advised him to let his hair grow only a few inches longer, layer the cut, and let it stand up in hip spikes in certain parts so he could also play modern characters.
When Chris took his friend’s advice, an incredible transformation occurred. Minus the glasses and the obscuring hair bangs and mop, Chris suddenly looked absolutely handsome. To be more specific, he looked like Puerto Rican pop superstar Ricky Martin…so much so that both his male friends and the girls began calling him “Ricky”. But what made him most appealing was his friendly, down-to-earth demeanor, which remained even with his newfound popularity with the women.
A few years later, Chris auditioned for American Idol and launched his YouTube channel, becoming one of the most subscribed popular personalities on the Web. He now lives in
