texted him asking if he wanted to meet up tonight and watch ’Titanic’, since he had promised he’d watch it if I watched The Godfather. He replied yes and that he’d bring a bottle of wine, saying he was going to need alcohol if he was going to waste a few hours of his precious life watching a crazy chick flick. If he cried at anything during the film, he added, it would apparently be because of that.

We decided 6 o’clock and we would get pizza take out.

 

Adele put her paw on my leg, catching my attention. “What’s up Adele?” I bent down and stroked her on the

head. “Bet you don’t have any problems with your love life, just happy whenever you get some attention. Sweet little fur ball.”

Adele looked up at me affectionally with her tongue hanging out. I got up and went to fill up her bowl with water. My mobile rang as I put down the bowl for Adele, who started slurping up the water straight away. It was my mum.

“Hi mum, how are you?”

“Hello darling, I’m just fine.” She sounded a bit stressed.

“How’s work?”

“Fine, not much to report. Just me and Adele hanging out having a drink,” I said as I looked down at Adele as she looked up at me from her bowl.

“Are you drinking in the middle of the day? Now honey, if you really want to make it, you can’t go around drinking at work, you’ll get yourself fired.”

I rolled my eyes.

“Mum! I was joking, I just gave Christine’s dog – who’s name is Adele- a bowl of water.” I shook my head.
