normally ending up with us both getting a snog by some random person, nothing more though. Just a bit of fun.

“Hey Alex, that guy by the end of the bar is checking you out.”

I turned around and saw an old Chinese guy looking my way smiling. I smiled back to be polite and then turned to Chris.

“Very funny Chris haa…haa,” I said as I gave him a sarcastic stare.

“Well he WAS checking you out,” he said with a cheeky grin on his face. “OK, seriously, the other guy at the end of the bar, the guy with the checked shirt and blonde hair.”

I turned around again and saw a handsome, tall guy looking my way. I smiled a little and got a smile back, then turned around.

“Oh, well he was pretty cute I suppose, maybe I'll talk to him later,” I said with a smug smile on my face, thinking that the only way I was going to talk to him was if he approached me. I never had the guts to walk up to guys and just start talking, but I pretended to in front of Chris because he was such a show off.

We chatted away whilst checking out the room and ordered a couple more drinks before the band got started. It was pretty crowded by then. The band was a four piece who played pop and rock tunes they had written themselves. They were good! I stood in the crowd stamping my foot to the rhythm. Chris had spotted some girl over by the bar so he'd gone over to chat her up. I looked to my right and saw the blonde, tall guy from the bar approaching.

“Hi! How are you, I’m Dave,” he said whilst putting out his right hand to shake mine.
