What do YOU want?” Quoting my dad. Then continued, ”look sis, if he really likes you, why don't you just stay in touch as friends?

He'll be understanding and wait a year or two. If he doesn't want to, then you have your answer. And being totally frank with you, he's at the age where he's probably ready for sex, and you're not ready for that are you?” I said, thinking that if she said she was I was gonna have to take a completely different approach. She had a little think, then opened her mouth to say something, then shut it, then opened again.

“Well I am fourteen, but I'm not wanting sex yet I suppose.”

I let out a subtle but very relieved breath. Thank god that was her answer! I tried not to look too relieved.

“Cool, well just tell him you wanna be friends. Men like women who know what they want anyway,” I said and winked at her.
