“You’re gonna love this,” he said and smiled.

I climbed a couple of branches, then took his hand and pulled myself up through the cloud.

What I saw above took my breath away. We stood at the side of the peek where there grew fresh grass and more of the flowers that I had seen growing on the tree. We seemed to be a lot higher up, there was no longer a view of the sea. Down below were beautiful colours and lights, almost like clouds but they didn’t move the same. It was almost as if it were alive and moving in a gentle nice way. Looking up and all around there were stars as far as the eye could see. My eyesight seemed to be better in my sleep, I could see far beyond what I normally could. I saw other planets in our galaxy and looking beyond that I could see other galaxies. We were so small, yet part of it all. I could see Peter clearly as if it was daylight where we stood, it might have been the lights from below. We lay down on the grass looking up into space.

“Did you ever want to be an astronaut, you know, like when you were little?” I asked him.

He looked up and frowned as if thinking about a memory.

“I wanted to be Luke Skywalker when I was a kid, so I suppose that’s a kind of astronaut, but with the added bonus of fighting evil and best of all, getting a light saber,” he said laughing. “Suppose we’re kind of astronauts now, but with the added benefit of breathing in space. What about you? What did you want to be?” he asked and looked over.

“Well, just happy I suppose. And I’m happy when I draw and paint. Sometimes I get really low, when I think of what the world has become with all the wars and the
